In 1981 Dorchester Corporation was founded by Jan Roush in 1981 when it began Apartment Management in Carrollton, Georgia. The Properties managed by Dorchester Corporation were in the Farmers Home RRH 515 program (now Rural Development), conventional and HUD.
In 1990 the first Low Income Housing Tax Credit properties were added. From 1990 to 2000 over 1500 units of Roush owned apartments and fee management were handled in Dorchester Corporation’s office.
In 2000, Management of Tax Credit and HUD Properties were sold to the Ambling Companies. Management of Rural Development was sold to Boyd Management in Columbia, South Carolina. Dorchester Corporation continued to manage the properties located in Carrollton.
In fall of 2011, Dorchester Corporation again took over Management of the remaining properties that had not been sold consisting of three tax credit properties, one HUD, and one Conventional, all located in Carrollton.
In 2013 Dorchester Management LLC was formed. The purpose of this new entity is to offer diverse services that provide intimate Program and Property Management which cater to our Clients and their Assets.
